Les paysages martiens Mount Sharp, 3-D View from the Front of Curiosity et Making Tracks on Mars, interprètent des images transmises par le Rover Curiosity depuis son amarsissage en août 2012. Les tableaux-reliefs sont sculptés à la manière d’un relief en bois (dans de la mousse polyuréthane) et teintés avec des encres. Les cadres profonds forment des fenêtres-hublots, simulations usées de la profondeur du tableau ou simples décors de science fiction : les cartes postales de l’imagerie martienne contemporaine trouvent un ressort fantasmatique dans l’anticipation passée, comme un remake nécessaire à l’exploration en cours.
The Martian landscape Mount Sharp, 3-D View from the Front of Curiosity and Making Tracks on Mars, interpret transmitted pictures from The Curiosity Rover from its mars landing in august 2012. The relief-paintings are sculpted in polyurethane foam tinted with inks, their aesthetics may seem outdated. The contemporary martian imagery postcards finds a fantastical spring in the past anticipation, like a necessary remake of the actual exploration.
