Invitée à l’occasion des 25 ans de la Kunststiftung NRW à réaliser une exposition au musée Von der Heydt de Wuppertal, je propose une intervention architecturante qui module l’espace du rez-de-chaussée au niveau du forum. The Gold, the Night & the Noon installation qui se substitut entre autres à un ancien rideau obsolète, met en évidence l’espace avec un rideau doré qui introduit une impression de scène, en face de l’entrée du musée et avant l’accés aux salles d’expositions. La surface brillante du tissu attrape continuellement la lumière du jour à partir du niveau supérieur, injectant également une touche glamour et disco dans l’atmosphère du musée lorsque l’éclairage artificiel prend le dessus. The Gold, The Night & The Noon est légèrement suggestive et déplace le lieu et le temps : ce rideau qui transforme l’architecture du rez-de-chaussée parsème éclat et brillance nocturne sur l’ambiance sobre du quotidien du musée. L’œuvre appartient au musée et devient perenne.
Invited on the occasion of the 25’years of the Kunststiftung NRW for an exhibition at the Museum Von der Heydt in Wuppertal, i propose an « architectural » intervention that modulate the ground floor space, at the level of the forum. The Gold, the Night & the Noon, who substitutes itself to an old obsolete curtain, is highlighting the space with a shiny golden curtain, creating the visual impression of a stage in the theatre, in front of the enter of the museum and before reaching the exhibition spaces. The gleaming surface of the fabric catches the daylight streaming down from the upper level, injecting a touch of disco glamour into the dignified halls of the museum. The Gold, The Night & The Noon is slightly and suggestively displaces place and time: the curtain that transform the architecture of the ground floor strews sparkle and shine nightime on the sober daytime ambiance of the museum. The work belongs to the museum and becomes perennial.
